Geoff "Hellfire" Briggs was born with racing in his blood, as his father was racing.  Geoff's father raced all over the West Coast from 1986-2000 winning track championships, several features and gaining many friendships.

Geoff is following in his fathers footsteps.  Wanting to race since he was 16, Geoff was determined to eventually race on his own.  On June 15, 2002 in Mohave Valley AZ, Geoff set to the track for the very first time in a bone stock Mazda.  "I was scared to death," remembers Geoff.  "I was in a bone stock car, and here is everyone else in their modified souped up rides,".  Geoff finished the day 12th out of 20, but most importantly started a career.

After a move to Colorado and working at Rocky Mountain National Speedway, Geoff ran a media race at the end of 2003.  Due to Geoff's size, he was in a Cruiser and finished 10th overall and 1st in class.

Then came the magic as a group of people gave Geoff his first car for the 2004 season.  Jeff Philpott, Eric Sing, and the entire Neff Racing camp came together and he had a car.  The Cruiser division required two people in the car so Geoff drove, while he found someone to run the gas pedal.  Throughout the season, Geoff was consistently in the top 5 and going into the last race, all Geoff had to do was start the main event to finish the season in the top 5 in points.  As Geoff lined up in staging, the rotor in the car went out and the car would not fire, The car was not fixed in time and Geoff's worst fear came to life.  Geoff ended up 6th in points, but had a great rookie season and lots of fun.

Geoff's first car was retired, and now he was on his second car, and for the 2004-2005 winter season Geoff decided to run Cruisers at I-76 Speedway.  With the help of friend and master mechanic, Tim Kiefer, Geoff and Tim claimed the 2004-2005 I-76 Winter Series Championship and also claimed a main event.  "Winning that main event, was amazing, but the championship was incredible," says Geoff.

2005 started great for Geoff and team as he was back at Rocky Mountain National Speedway.  After 3 races the engine blew in his car, and then had a barely running car that limped him to 10th in points as the track closed.  "The 2005 season was a nightmare," Briggs remembers.

With the track closing, Geoff started going to Colorado National Speedway, and he ran the Neff Racing car once at I-76 Speedway in October.  After finishing 18th in the main event in his first Econo race, the Sundat race was rained out.

In 2007, Geoff took the Neff Racing car for once race at Colorado National Speedway and finished 23rd, but had a blast in an underpowered car.  Then in December, the car was ran where it belongs, Enduro's at I-76 Speedway.  After Geoff moved into the top 10 after starting 24th, Flat tires ruined his day, and then electical problems forced him to retire after 37 laps.

Whats in store for 2008?  If sponsorship comes, Geoff plans on running the full 2008 season at Colorado National Speedway and then contending for the 2008 Colorado National Speedway Rookie of the Year.  Also trips to HiWay 92 Raceway Park in Gering NE, Big Country Speedway in Cheyenne, WY and I-25 Speedway in Pueblo, CO may be planned as long as races in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Lake Havasu AZ and other areas.
